Brooke Shields has been speaking to Health magazine about how she maintains her figure.

The 52-year-old model, actor and radio star has been in the spotlight all of her life. She started modelling when she was just 11 months old.

Recently, she has been subjected to even more attention. During her recent interview with Health magazine, she explained that the press had become even more interested in her body shape since she turned 50.

However, she has not let this bother her. Instead of worrying, she has simply re-doubled her efforts to stay fit and healthy. She told the reporter:

“I’ve started Pilates, both a class and with a private teacher.”

She also takes SoulCycle classes and has recently started enjoying the Indo Board. Both of which complement Pilates because they are also great ways to strengthen the core.

When she first tried the Indo Board, she was not strong enough to do it. But, with the help of Pilates and a personal trainer she has been able to build up her strength to be able to enjoy using the Indo Board and, recently, Inversion Boots, as well.

Recent research carried out at Australia’s Griffith University by Cherie Wells shows that Pilates is particularly good for strengthening the lower back. For many, it is proving an effective way to reduce lower back pain.
