Singer, fashion designer and X Factor judge Dannii Minogue is using Pilates to help her regain her pre-pregnancy figure in time for the X Factor October’s live shows.
The younger sister of Kylie Minogue, who first found fame in Aussie soap Home and Away, gave birth to baby Ethan by caesarean section on 5th July in her native Melbourne.
She is now pulling out all the stops to look her size 8 best in time for the TV talent show’s imminent live broadcasts, where she will be casting a critical eye on the show’s hopefuls, along with Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell.
A source close to Dannii told Now magazine that she had been keeping her calorie intake in check by eating five smaller meals a day, eating plenty of organic food and supplementing this with lots of vitamin supplements. The 38-year-old was reportedly back in the gym just six weeks after giving birth, and has concentrated on low impact exercises such as Pilates and yoga and dancing.
Pilates is the exercise of choice for many celebrity mums both during pregnancy and after giving birth, as it can help to strengthen the core abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles and help childbirth. Model Miranda Kerr, who is four months into her pregnancy, recently promoted her line of skincare products with footage of her practising Pilates. There are many Pilates classes in the Ribbley Valley, in
Burnley,
Preston,
Rochdale and lots of other
Lancashire areas, where qualified instructors will be able to tailor exercises for expecting or new mums.
