Felicity Jones reveals Pilates as part of preparations for Rogue One

After many years of barely speaking about how she stays fit, Felicity Jones has revealed that she used Pilates alongside other exercise regimes to get fit.

The 34-year-old British actor´s career started early. At the age of 11, she landed a role in the TV series ‘The Worst Witch’. She went on to star in many dramas and films including ‘Brideshead Revisited’, ‘Northanger Abbey’ and ‘Like Crazy’. None of those roles required her to be particularly physically fit. However, her latest role as the kick-ass warrior Jyn Erso in Rogue One, the latest edition of the Star Wars series, certainly did.

To play the rebel leader, Jones had to up her fitness. In an effort to do so, she hit the gym every day and took advantage of a range of exercise regimes aimed at building her strength and stamina. She recently shared details about the approach she took with Harper’s Bazaar. During that interview, she said:

“I am bit of a magpie with fitness. I do bits of yoga, Pilates, ballet, swimming, and then I like to go running outside rather than go to the gym.”

Her ‘magpie’ approach to fitness is one that many people are realising works well. This includes dancers, weight-lifters, elderly people and youngsters who are all looking for a way to strengthen their body and build lean muscle.
