Actress Felicity Kendall’s splits brought the house down during her latest rumba routine on Strictly Come Dancing, but it turns out that there is no big secret as regards to her suppleness – she credits it to regular Pilates sessions.

At 64 years old, her routine on the popular dance show would put most people half of her age to shame, but she drew gasps from the judges and the audience as she pulled off the difficult manoeuvre during the routine with her partner Vincent Simone.

It was so good that hard-to-please judge Len Goodman nicknamed her “Flexible Felicity”, and the notoriously catty Bruno Tonioli exclaimed that he didn’t know that she could be so bendy.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, an insider on the show commented:

“Felicity says she has been training extremely hard for the show and she practices yoga and Pilates, which of course helps with her flexibility and with her ability to do something like the splits.”

The actress, best known for her role as Barbara Good in sitcom The Good Life, was seen visiting a London gym for Pilates and yoga sessions weeks before her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.
