Home and Away star Georgie Parker was recently photographed doing gravity-defying Pilates exercises just months after having a hip replacement.

Parker’s strength and flexibility were clear to see and show that her recovery from the operation was going well. The 53-year-old, who is best known for playing Roo Stewart in the popular Australian soap, suffers from osteoarthritis and had undergone the surgery in March this year.

Prior to her operation, Parker’s osteoarthritis had reached the point where she was having mobility issues. She also suffers from Scoliosis but the star did her best to cover up the extent of her health issues.

Parker shared the photo on Facebook and commented:

“So a heads up re my hip, I’ve done Pilates for 10 years and have an excellent teacher. My physio gave the ok, so I’m back at it. When you’ve had an injury or surgery, my advice is to listen to the professionals and your body before getting back into your routine.”

During her recovery, Parker had plenty of support from her friends, in particular, her co-star Ray Meagher. He was at her side throughout the recovery process. However, she clearly found getting over the operation to be a challenge; she described it as “debilitating”.
