Gerrard joins the Pilates team

Liverpool football player Steven Gerrard recently revealed his fitness regime, and much to the surprise of many sport fans it turns out that the star midfielder practices Pilates.

Gerrard takes part in a vigorous training regime every day in order to stay fit for the pitch. This includes weights, Pilates classes in Pilates classes pilates classes Pilates classes, and 90 minutes of football training.

The 34-year-old told reporters that the key to his success was finding the right fitness regime to keep him at the top of his game.

In order to keep in shape, Gerrard takes part in regular Pilates classes, which he uses to ensure that he maintains flexible.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said:

“If I am playing Saturday to Saturday, managing my workload during the week is key. When I’m training off the pitch I normally do three weight sessions each day to improve my upper-body strength and one working on my lower body to improve leg strength. I also do two core or Pilates sessions to increase my flexibility.”

Gerrard also trains on the football pitch for 90 minutes a day. His on-pitch training is a gruelling regime, which includes cardio, running, drills, and, of course, the essential ball work that helped him to make his name on the field.

He also maintains a strict diet, which is high in protein and carbs, to help him sustain energy levels on the field. On match days, he also supplements his diets with energy drinks to replace the electrolytes he loses through extra exertion.
