The actress, who has played Marnie Michaels for four seasons, recently appeared on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar, where she was pictures showing off her toned physique in a midriff-baring crop top and figure hugging denim and leather leggings.

The photoshoot was a milestone for Allison, who has previously expressed feeling self-conscious about her stomach area.

The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of the Harper’s Bazaar shoot, alongside the caption:

“I am particularly proud of this one. For my whole life until 2 years ago, I was super self-conscious about my stomach. I dreaded bikini season. I kept it covered. Boyfriends weren’t allowed to touch it. No amount of crunches seemed to strengthen it.”

Allison, who recently married American entrepreneur Ricky Van Veen, has also been singing the praises of Pilates, which is known as being a great exercise for the core section, recently, joining a number of other celebrity Pilates lovers, including Lea Michelle, Kerry Washington and Hilary Duff.

Allison also told Harper’s Bazaar that she has a rather unusual choice of active wear: tummy–flattening Spanx underwear. The 27-year-old brunette admitted that she wears them almost every day because the control top is so flattering, and went so far as to recommend them to readers.
