Kerry Washington keeps in shape with Pilates

She is perhaps best known for her role as the beautiful Broomhilda von Shaft in Quentin Tarantino’s hit film Django Unchained, but Kerry Washington is also admired far and wide for her strong, toned body. Luckily for enquiring minds, the 38-year-old actress recently revealed the secrets behind her enviable figure, and it turns out one of the things that keeps her in such good shape is a regular Pilates practice.

Speaking about her fitness regime to SELF Magazine, Kerry said:

“With Pilates, I get to bring my true self. I cry, I laugh. I think, ‘What do I need today?”

The magazine also spoke to Kerry’s Pilates trainer Julie Turner who laid out a simple Pilates workout, which she recommended be done 2-3 times a week by anyone who wants to get a similarly toned body to Kerry’s.

Her recommendations included a series of popular Pilates movements that work every part of the body in turn, including leg springs, arm circles and standing jumps.

Kerry Washington is not the only celebrity to recently reveal a love for Pilates, super –toned Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge recently revealed that she used Pilates to help her get her enviable figure back post-pregnancy and model Miranda Kerr recently posted a video of herself demonstrating a number of Pilates moves on a reformer machine, so it really does seem that Pilates classes in Pilates classes pilates classes Pilates classes are the thing to try if you want to have the body of a star.
