Ozzy Osbourne swaps ‘Paranoid’ for Pilates

The self proclaimed ‘Prince of Darkness’ has admitted being initially apprehensive about his new Pilates fitness regime.
The ex-Black Sabbath madman has shifted down a gear, and has begun a Pilates course in his efforts to build up his muscle tone.

The 61 year old singer, originally from Aston, Birmingham, found worldwide fame as the lead singer of the heavy metal outfit, and soon gained notoriety for his drink and drug excesses. However, he cleaned up his act and is now more likely to be found working out in a gym than throwing a hotel room TV into a swimming pool.

In an article for the Sunday Times, Ozzy said:

“I used to have this make-up artist who went on leave to have a baby. I saw her a year later, and she looked amazing, all slim, firm and healthy.

“I’ve just decided to do a course of Pilates for that very same reason. I’m not out of shape, but I want to avoid getting a big old gut on me. My only fear with these stretching-based things is that I won’t have the patience. Usually, if I haven’t worked up a sweat in the first three seconds, I’m off.”

In fact, it’s the slower pace of Pilates that makes it an ideal exercise for people of all ages, as it focuses on alignment of the pelvis and spine as well as breathing techniques. Lots of people are enjoying the benefits of Pilates, and there will be a Pilates class close to where you live.
