After six years of keeping quiet, Philip Schofield has explained that Pilates has played a major role in improving his level of fitness.

Recently, the This Morning presenter opened up about his health regime on Instagram. He posted a short video that explained how he has managed to maintain his well-toned physique. At 56, Schofield looks remarkably lean and strong. During his video he said:

“You may or may not know that I do Pilates every week.”

He went on to explain that he had been working out like this for six years. Later, in the video, he said that he had a “core of steel”, which is a benefit of the exercise that students of Pilates from Pilates classes in Chorley pilates classes Chorley to Pilates classes in Rochdale pilates classes Rochdale and beyond, also notice.

As well as presenting This Morning for the past 16 years, Schofield also co-presents Dancing on Ice. At times, he has had a gruelling work schedule involving very long days of filming.

Naturally, fitting in enough exercise and eating properly has not always been easy. In fact, at one stage, he was two stone overweight. Fortunately, the star was able to take control of the situation. Using the 5:2 diet, he was able to shed his excess weight.

Around this time, he also discovered Pilates. He hired a private instructor to come to his home and provide him with an intensive Pilates session every Tuesday. Schofield no longer needs to diet, but the Pilates habit has stuck and working out in this way is something that he still enjoys doing.
