Sarah Michelle Gellar does pre- and post-natal Pilates

Sarah Michelle Gellar gave birth to her beautiful baby on the 19th September this year, and just two months later is the talk of the media as she stepped out looking slim and svelte already. At 32 years old, how did she do it?

According to US Magazine:

“No official word on how she shed the pounds, but she did 55-minute Pilates sessions up to three times a week with trainer Alycea Ungaro to stay fit while pregnant.”

Now Sarah Michelle Prinze, the actress is the wife of Freddie Prinze and is reported to have attended regular pre-natal Pilates classes in Pilates classes pilates classes Pilates classes and is apparently continuing the regime with post-natal Pilates now.

She is by no means the only celebrity to have appeared in the media recently looking toned and fit and declaring Pilates is the answer; she is in good company with the likes of Megan Fox and Naomi Campbell, and sports people such as David Beckham also reporting to have found Pilates great for their health and fitness.

Women should certainly not feel pressured to rush into keeping fit whilst pregnant or losing their baby weight straight away, but we do seem to. Doing Pilates classes is a form of exercise that most people can manage and many GPs recommend, but you should always speak to your GP if looking to exercise during pregnancy and be sure to use a reputable Pilates instructor.
