The American actress and film producer Sharon Stone revealed how she manages to look so fit and healthy at 59.

In a recent interview with the New York Times she spoke about her philosophy, skin care routine, makeup and what she eats. When she was asked about her exercise routine, she said:

“I do Pilates — I have a machine in my house. Or I go to a gym and circuit train depending on what mood I’m in. Or I might put on music and dance my brains out.”

Like many fitness conscious people, she also follows a healthy eating routine. Stone does not eat processed foods and avoids caffeine. Occasionally, she drinks alcohol and soda and still takes sugar in her tea. Her balanced approach to healthy eating enables her to eat whatever she feels like.

This is not the first time the actress has spoken about fitness. She did so in an interview with the Daily Mail, in 2016. In that article, the point was made that the star had been doing Pilates for many years. The actress is clearly a long-term fan of the fitness regime that was developed in the early 20th Century.

Joseph Pilates called it Contrology and he specifically developed the exercises to help fellow inmates of the internment camp they were staying in to improve their fitness levels. When he left, the camp he went on to work with the choreographers and dancers Martha Graham and George Balanchine in New York.
