Singer Braxton eases pain of bankruptcy with Pilates

Songstress Toni Braxton has intimated how Pilates has helped her through her latest bankruptcy battle.

The singer, who had a worldwide hit with Unbreak My Heart in 1996, has had much publicised money woes. She has recently filed more papers showing that she could be in debt to the tune of $50 million, but this is not the first time for her; she previously went bankrupt in 1998, owing $400,000 in taxes.

Speaking to UsMagazine, she revealed how Pilates exercises have enabled her to relax and made her more confident of bouncing back. She commented:

“I’ve just started Pilates with a machine and the classes have been helping me feel a little more centred.”

“Everything’s good. It’s going to be great.”

Her financial problems come hot on the heels of her recent announcement that she is suffering from Lupus, an autoimmune disorder. She made an admission at the 8th Annual Lupus Bag Ladies Luncheon in Los Angeles that she had to deal with the disease every day, and revealed her relief at sharing her secret on Twitter afterwards.

Not everyone has debts that run into the millions, but even so, there’s no escaping the fact that modern life is stressful. All GPs advocate exercise as a stressbuster, but not everyone is able to participate in vigorous gym sessions.
