Bollywood actress highlights Pilates as key to fitness regime

Kriti Sanon, the 29 year-old Bollywood actress, is known for several Hindi films, all of which require physical and mental strength and fitness.

Indian news outlet Republic reported recently on how the actress keeps fit, with Sanon stating that Pilates is a regular feature of her workout regime.

Many actors work out to try and keep weight down or stay slim, but Sanon has a different outcome in mind. She says that her height often makes her look thinner than ideal, so she works out to gain weight and muscle. This is particularly important for roles in movies such as Raabta, where she played a warrior. Alongside weight training 3-4 times a week, the actor enjoys Pilates sessions, kickbox training and dancing.

Sanon certainly knows all about hard work and discipline. Before hitting the big time in movies, she pursued an engineering degree followed by a stint in modelling. Alongside her acting work, she has launched her own clothing line and endorses several brands.

Despite all this, Sanon manages to stay on track with her busy workout schedule and eat clean, sticking to fruit, veg and lean meats and eating little and often, always carrying nuts with her so she never goes more than two hours without eating.
