Katrina Kaif reveals importance of Pilates to workout routine

For many years, Katrina Kaif has worked out hard, but she has only recently discovered the benefits of Pilates.

The English Bollywood star is clearly extremely fit and she needs to be as most of her films include very energetic dance scenes. It is obvious from her performances that she looks after herself and trains hard. In 2012, Meena Lyer from The Times of India described her as “one of Bollywood’s best dancers.”

She made her acting debut in 2003, when she landed a role in the heist movie BOOM. Her career really took off when she starred alongside Salman Khan in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. In 2009, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in Kabir Khan’s movie New York.

Over the years, the 35-year-old star has participated in many different forms of exercise to keep herself fit. But, right now, Pilates is her workout of choice. In a recent Instagram video she explained why that is. She said:

“Pilates benefits the smaller muscles of your body. This helps improve your stability, flexibility, stamina, posture and immunity.”

These are all benefits attendees at Pilates classes across Lancashire also notice and rave about. Kaif also commented that this form of exercise strengthens the core, something which is extremely important for a dancer

During her video, Kaif also pointed out that Pilates helps to release lactic acid from the body and restores its balance. As a result, many people find that this form of exercise helps them to de-stress.
